Career Workshop Event
Course participants (student managers) organized 10 sessions to assist approximately 300 undergraduate students in becoming interview ready. Student managers recruited approximately 40 industry professionals and alumni to participate as interviewers, speakers, and panelist. Sessions included: resume review, mock interviews, LinkedIn 101, dress for success, professional photos, industry panel, internship panel, grad panel, speed networking, and law school. This event was hosted 6 times between 2016-2019, both fall and spring.
"Working on the SPMT Career Workshop in your class was my first real experience being treated as a professional and working together with my classmates to put on an event. We were helped along the way, but the onus was on us to make sure we accomplished our tasks. Going through the preparation for that event has helped me function as a member of team in a professional environment and put into perspective early in my college career the importance of being a team player."
